The upgraded Human Playa Vehicle Reservation starts at $150, and gets you a refurbished beach cruiser! We guarantee that this bike will come with two pumped tires, at least one working brake and one working gear. Some come with more brakes/gears. These bikes have typically been to Burning Man at least once, and have received a thorough safety check by our mechanics.
When reserving a Human Playa Vehicle you get access to one of our hundreds of bikes that are available for pick-up during our Pop-Up. We cannot pick or set aside a bike for you. The earlier you arrive, the better the selection. Pay attention to the Pop-Up times and dates because we cannot accommodate pick ups outside of our open hours, and do not recommend leaving any bikes locked up outside of our shop overnight.
Some bikes will feature upgrades (basket, rack, etc.) and cost more accordingly, so you will be charged the difference upon pick-up (prices will be listed at our shop and noted on the bike's price tag). If you would like to purchase accessories, we can install items for an added cost once you're in person and have already picked out your bike.
Our Playa Bike Pop-Up store will be open Tuesday, August 20th through Monday, August 26th at 635 E. 4th St. 10 am - 10 pm for pick-up.
If you need to pick up your bike after these dates, please visit our Flagship store located at 216 Grove St. during normal shop hours. Our hours can be found at renobikeproject.org.
We don't rent bikes, only sell them. So once you pick out a bike it is your property and doesn't need to be returned. You may donate it; since we are a 501(c)3 nonprofit your donation is tax deductible.
No refunds will be issued after August 18th, 2024 on bikes.
